Hi everyone, I hope you’ve had a really good week and I’ve just got home from the first Violetta book and mask stall so it’s been a really lovely day, and I’m going to share with you some of the lead up to that. There were a few late nights and lots and lots of mess. I hope you enjoy and see you at the end.
The first thing this week was to figure out how much printing I needed to do. At this stage, I wasn’t exactly sure how much that would be. Even on the day I wasn’t quite sure as you never really know, but I was preparing the files to print and resizing some masks as many of the audience members were going to be five year olds. The masks I had were a little too big for those little faces.
The following night, quite late, I decided to make some already sparkled masks. You can see the ones above are my Glinda meets Elphaba masks from the movie Wicked, pink and green at the same time.
On Thursday morning I was feeling a little bit tired, but I went out for a walk in the sunshine and it was the nicest day, we’ve actually had really good weather today too. It made me feel a hundred times better, even when I got home and saw all the mess from the previous night.
Books arrived, and I just think it’s so exciting every single time I receive a box of books. So we’ve got the Paganini Poltergeist and we’ve also got the first book which is Violetta and the Venetian Violin.

These are the feathers and the glittery bits that went into the kits, a job to sort out, and by that afternoon I had done some reorganising. I had to clean up as I was teaching, so things were put into piles and prepared for the night, after a cup of tea of course in the sunshine and between students I did a bit more cutting out. I’d already glued some of those masks you saw previously and each one takes me about 4 minutes…so the video is super speedy.
So it’s been a late few nights getting everything ready for the stall and you can see that things are starting to pile up. Here’s the closeup.

We have some masks I’ve assembled, lots of butterflies and witch’s hats. Then there are the kits, taht people can assemble themselves, Beetlejuice, Butterflies, Pumpkin heads, Ghostbusters, more butterflies and Cruella is in there too. Then there are other cardboard ones that people can wear on the day, I need to attach ribbon to those. There are the prints I made last week, some books, banners and almost everything is organized. Hooray.

Then Friday was Halloween, and the first birthday of Paganini Poltergeist, released a year ago today. It is always an exciting occasion and you can see the paper mache mask from last week as well as some flickering spooky candles.
Below you can see me putting on my mask in the foyer and all set to start. The audience is about to arrive, I’ve got the masks, paintings, the Paganini Poltergeist books, mask kits, Violetta and the Venetian Violin books, sparkly masks and then…it’s concert time.
Now it's time to enjoy the rest of the day, which is looking like a beautiful day actually so I’m about to go for a walk to the beach. And I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the leadup to the ask and book stall. It was really so much fun and there’s so much I’ve learnt and I hope to do it again soon.

Next week I’ll be talking about preparing for an author visit so that’s my next goal, not sure if its will happen next week but the preparations will be so I’ll share those with you.
So I hope you’ve had a good week and until then, happy music making everyone. Bye for now.
